Buying and selling shipping containers:
The buying and selling of shipping containers is becoming increasingly accessible. Whether you are a company looking for additional storage space or an individual wishing to expand your home, the maritime or storage container offers many advantages. Ready to use, it is customizable to your liking, durable over time, resistant to break-ins, does not necessarily require a building permit, and its resale remains largely possible!
Thus, depending on your budget and/or your needs, you can choose a new maritime or storage container, a used maritime container or a last voyage container, an Open Side or Frigo container, etc.
Don't hesitate to thoroughly research before making your choice!
Our containers are all inspected and meet the standards of shipping companies (sound structure, watertight, functional doors and floor).
LOGI CONTENEUR has several depots near major urban areas (Marseille, Lyon, Bordeaux, Le Havre, Dunkirk, etc.). This allows us to be competitive in container transport regardless of your region (PACA, Occitanie, Ile de France, Brittany, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Corsica, etc.).

The price of a shipping container
The price of a shipping container varies depending on several factors:
Its condition: A container referred to as first voyage (considered a new container in the maritime industry) will of course have a higher rate than a container referred to as last voyage (at the end of its life).
. Its dimensions: It is clear that a 12m HC container will be more expensive than a standard 12m container or a 6m container. On the other hand, the 12m (40-foot) container remains much more financially advantageous. It's the law of supply and demand. 12-meter containers are produced in much larger numbers (more interesting for shipping companies) but are of less interest to people for purchase at the end of their life (bulkier than 20-foot, 6-meter containers).
. Its specificities: Open side containers (large opening on the side of the container), for example, require reinforcement during manufacturing (additional steel cost) and are produced in much smaller quantities.
Its location: A container made available in Le Havre may have a different price than a container in Fos, Marseille, or Bordeaux, Lyon, etc. The approach costs vary, just like the local supply or demand, which impacts the container rate.
From the global market: With the COVID crisis, China, which manufactures 99% of the world's containers, halted its production for several months. Moreover, the economies, whether halted or not, have contributed to completely destabilizing the transport of goods. The flow of containers has been interrupted or unbalanced. As a result, there is currently (February 21) a huge shortage of containers in the European market, leading to a significant increase in maritime container sales prices.
The price of steel: an essential raw material for a container.
This rate is in addition to the delivery cost, as well as the unloading cost of the container. Don't hesitate to contact us to get a price tailored to your situation!
Before the Covid-19 crisis, the average cost of a maritime container was:
Price of a new 20-foot maritime container (6m, first voyage): €2200 excluding tax
Price of the used 20′ maritime container (6m, last voyage): €1650 excluding VAT
. Price of a used 40-foot (12m) container: €1650 excluding tax
